4:15 PM - 4:25 PM | LP1: AI's Ethical Frontier: What Women Leaders Must Get Right

Explore how bias, trustworthiness and governance in AI are shaping client engagements and why women leaders are uniquely positioned to lead responsibly.

As AI transforms business, women leaders—renowned for their integrity, empathy, and inclusive vision—are uniquely equipped to guide its ethical evolution. The future of responsible AI depends on human judgment, and women are poised to lead the way in building trustworthy, people-first systems.

Karen Werger, Vice Chair - Deloitte Canada

4:25 PM - 4:35 PM | LP2: Beyond Balance: Work-Life Integration & Mental Health in Consulting

Work life balance is a false narrative—one that sets us up for failure by implying work and life should be equal on any given day. Instead, I advocate for "work-life sway": the sway between the time spent tending to responsibilities in and out of work. This natural rhythm is not only realistic but sustainable over a long haul. As a leader, my responsibility is setting a clear vision of success for the company, while also consistently communicating and modeling that personal success matters just as much. That means supporting various paths to achieving it—because what works for me won't work for everyone, and rigid expectations around "balance" only undermine the well-being we're trying to protect. I'm looking forward to sharing a few things that have been part of how I've kept myself grounded, including coaching & mentoring, developing a personal board of directors, therapy, and learning how to manage my own personal energy very closely.
