For the last 50 years, society in every developed country has become a society of institutions, one of operating systems. Every major social task, whether economic performance or health care, education or the protection of the environment, the pursuit of new knowledge or defense, is today being entrusted to operating systems created by and for the white male.

These organizations, designed for perpetuity and managed by their own methods of management, in their own styles of communication and hierarchical leadership, must be reconsidered.

The process utilizes the 4 Ps: Policies, Practices, Pay, and Pipeline to re-build, protect, and grow organizations throughout. As the world becomes more equitable and clients demand justice, equity, diversity and inclusion, survival as a service provider increasingly depends on the re-performance of these systems and of individual behaviors. We must eradicate structural racism and eliminate institutional bias in the law firm setting. Now.

We will discuss how arrangements of people, organizations, information, and technology, give rise to complex adaptive phenomena that pose challenges to firms across the country.
